With our team of hand picked experienced fly fishers, raconteurs and experts in the business, we aim to entertain, educate & bring you the best in fly fishing, from sometimes the less obvious locations in the UK and abroad. Greig Thomson
Seeing a gap in the market on the back of Salmo International, Greig decided to launch The Fly Fishing Channel in 2012 to fill that gap. Being an obsessive salmon and trout fisherman and guide at home and abroad for over 23 years, Greig is the driving force behind the channel, along with each individual show. Greig’s ethos for the channel is to get the fishing community involved and help as many people along the way whilst promoting Scotland and the UK as a Global Fly Fishing Destination.
Cohn O’Dea
Cohn is our resident ghillie and features on our salmon shows in and around Scotland, particularly on the Rivers Tay & Dee. Having fished far and wide both at home and abroad, and with a good few 35lb+ salmon under his belt, Cohn brings to the show a wealth of knowledge and expertise, whilst not forgetting his larger than life personality.
Dicky Bingham
After being away in the wilds of deepest South America & Africa working on various wildlife and film projects for several years, Dicky brings to the team a enviable wealth of experience both behind the camera and with fishing itself. With Dicky, creativity is key when behind the camera, and as such he is a key member of the team.
Stan Headley
Fishing author, fly tier, guide and all round trout guru Stan Headley, brings to the channel his wealth of fishing experience along with advice on tactics. Stan aims to help the viewers with that extra ammunition when fishing for wild trout. Having spend his days fishing in and around Orkney, Stan is now a very well known personality in the fishing world and is a valuable member of the team.
Andrew Toft
Andrew is an International World Champion Fly-Caster to whom has fished extensively for several years around the globe. Andrew spends his time structuring programmes for individuals aspiring to become casting instructors as well as fly fishing for salmon & trout. Andrew is our resident casting guru who will feature his masterclass at various points throughout the shows.
Ron Sutherland
Hailing from the county of Sutherland in the far north of Scotland, Ron is by far one of the best known names in the fly tying and salmon fishing world. Having fished extensively in Scotland and also Russia, Ron brings to the table his expertise in fly tying, not forgetting his great personality.
Derrick Linton
Since finishing his Master’s Degree in Electronic Imaging at Dundee University in 2009, Derrick has been teaching Multimedia and IT in Further Education ever since. As well as being a part of our team, Derrick also runs a media production company, which keeps him engaged in his creative passion working with film or DSLR photography. Being a keen angler, Derrick has fished extensively for over 10 years, and is as passionate about his fishing as he is about film. His love for fishing along with his creative ability with the camera can only be a great asset for our productions.
